GAYRARD Véronique

Ing. Agro, Ph.D., HDR Professeur de physiologie à l'Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire de Toulouse

Professor of Physiology at the National Veterinary School of Toulouse (ENVT), Véronique Gayrard initially trained as an agricultural engineer at the National School of Agronomy of Toulouse (1986-1989). After earning a master's degree in Neuroscience, she completed her doctorate at the INRA Reproductive Physiology Station in Nouzilly. She then joined the ENVT for a postdoctoral fellowship (1993-1996) and has been a member of the veterinary school's teaching staff since 1996. After several years (1996-2006) focused on the study of endocrine disorders associated with prion diseases, her team undertook a thematic mobility to focus on issues related to endocrine disruptors and joined the UMR 1331 INRAE ​​Toxalim. Since 2021, Véronique Gayrard has been Deputy Director of the SEVAB doctoral school.

Also working on the role of CAR and PXR xenosensors in the regulation of hepatic energy metabolism and on their role in the “obesogenic” effect of environmental contaminants. Performs expert activity with the French National Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health Safety (ANSES).

Professor of Reproductive Pathology at the National Veterinary School of Toulouse

Lecturer and researcher in Reproductive Pathology in the Department of Livestock and Products and Veterinary Public Health at the National Veterinary School of Toulouse. Scientific Director since November 2019. Research activity focuses on understanding the toxicokinetic mechanisms leading to fetal exposure to endocrine disruptors.
