After an engineering degree in Biotechnology (INSA Toulouse, 1986) and a PhD in cellular physiology (University of Toulouse, 1989), Thierry Gauthier first worked as a researcher in a French start-up developing immunosuppressants. He joined INRAE ​​in 1993 in the economic valorization department and then as deputy head of the Animal Health department for partnership issues with industry. Since 2009, he has been a research engineer at TOXALIM where he has conducted toxicology studies on mycotoxins, fungicides and 4-hydroxynonenal (oxidation product of food lipids) using in vitro approaches. His work has focused on understanding toxicity mechanisms at the cellular and molecular level. Since January 2022, he has been part of the “Biosynthesis and Toxicity of Mycotoxins” team where he is involved in the study of the cellular response following exposure to mycotoxins.
