Quality

The quality approach within the institute and Toxalim...

Message from the President of INRAE

Dear colleagues,

INRAE's Quality Policy serves its scientific ambition, as stated in our joint INRAE 2030 strategic project, and thus applies to all units within the institute. It supports the rigor of our scientific approach through the continuous improvement of our research, experimentation, expertise, and research support processes, supporting our practices and organizations with renewed ambition. Thus, the 2023-2027 period will be marked, beyond the essential maintenance of our laboratories and experimental facilities, by:

  • Proactive actions to share and converge tools and practices with our partners within the Higher Education and Research (ESR), within the framework outlined in the Support Functions Modernization Plan (PMFS);
  • Strengthening risk management related to our activities;
  • Continuous improvement initiatives more focused on the institution's major policies, foremost among which is our CSR strategy; • The ongoing pursuit of greater cohesion and consistency of practices among our support teams at all levels of the institution;
  • The implementation of a metrology function and a measurement management system within each entity of the institute.
  • I know I can count on everyone's commitment to achieve these major objectives for the establishment.

Kind regards

Philippe Mauguin

The Quality Policy supported by the Quality Management Unit sets the following objectives:

  • Ensure the traceability of activities
  • Improve the reliability of measurable results and be able to prove it
  • Provide guarantees regarding: the quality of equipment, data, methods, and materials provided to research partners and beneficiaries; the sustainability of data and their processing
  • Improve the organization's operations
  • Contribute to risk management in the field of research and research support activities

To meet the challenges of research and support the INRAE 2030 strategy, "meeting the challenges of agriculture, food and the environment of tomorrow", the INRAE Quality Policy proposes, to the Institute's entities, quality as a facilitator of the organization and implementation of research, experimentation, expertise and research support activities.

At Toxalim, a quality unit led by a quality manager does everything possible to meet all of these objectives :

  • Formalizing the organization of activities,
  • Identifying critical points and following up on avenues for improvement,
  • Equipment maintenance,
  • Regulatory monitoring

With the aim of controlling, securing and promoting data and results from research, experimentation and research support.
