Seminar Lauris Evariste, le 21 mars 2025

Lauris Evariste has recently joined Toxalim's EnTeRisk team.

Lauris Evariste holds a double PhD in Biology (Institut Armand-Frappier, Canada) and Physiology and Biology of Organisms, Populations and Interactions (University of Reims, France), obtained during an international joint thesis in ecotoxicology, which focused on the immunotoxic impacts of environmental pollutants interacting with climate change in an invertebrate species.

He then built his research during his postdoctoral studies around more integrative approaches in environmental toxicology (CRBE – Toulouse) and food toxicology (Toxalim – Toulouse), which take into account the disturbances induced in intestinal microbial communities, particularly by nanomaterials, and the pathophysiological consequences in the host. The interdisciplinary nature of his work has enabled him to develop expertise in the various components considered in One Health approaches, integrating the concept of EcoHealth through a longitudinal approach to the consequences of environmental contamination for human health.

His recruitment to the Toxalim unit within the EnTeRisk team allows him to continue developing these approaches in order to assess the overall health effects of environmental and food contaminants.
