PUEL Sylvie

TREX

Sylvie joined the INRAE Toulouse Center in 2005 as an analytical chemistry technician. Through her experience, she has expertise in the field of quantification of xenobiotic or endogenous substances (method development and validation) using liquid chromatography techniques coupled with UV, Fluo, or mass spectrometry detection. She is also involved in missions of collective interest (quality unit, staff representative, member of the unit council, and member of the ADAS board of directors). Sylvie joined the team in 2017.

PINTON Philippe

IRCN, PhD

Philippe first worked at the CEA and was then recruited to INRAE in 1993 at the Cell Genetics Laboratory before joining the unit in 2001. He contributes to the development of tools for analyzing the effects of food contaminants and to the development of experimental approaches on animals, cell culture models and intestinal explants used in the team. He is conducting research on the effects of mycotoxins on intestinal tissue, which was the subject of his doctorate obtained in 2012 at the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes.

GAUTHIER Thierry

IRCN, PhD

After an engineering degree in Biotechnology (INSA Toulouse, 1986) and a PhD in cellular physiology (University of Toulouse, 1989), Thierry Gauthier first worked as a researcher in a French start-up developing immunosuppressants. He joined INRAE in 1993 in the economic valorization department and then as deputy head of the Animal Health department for partnership issues with industry. Since 2009, he has been a research engineer at TOXALIM where he has conducted toxicology studies on mycotoxins, fungicides and 4-hydroxynonenal (oxidation product of food lipids) using in vitro approaches. His work has focused on understanding toxicity mechanisms at the cellular and molecular level. Since January 2022, he has been part of the “Biosynthesis and Toxicity of Mycotoxins” team where he is involved in the study of the cellular response following exposure to mycotoxins.

LORBER Sophie

CRHC, PHD, HDR

Sophie joined the team in January 2016. After a PhD in plant biochemistry and a post-doctoral fellowship at BASF (Germany), Sophie was recruited to INRAE in 1995. Her research activities focused on glutathione transferases and the chemical fate of pesticides and, more broadly, organic contaminants in plants. Since 2016, her work has focused on the study of the patulin biosynthesis pathway and its regulation.

OSWALD Isabelle

DREX, Ing. Agro, PhD, HDR

Isabelle Oswald led the BioToMyc team from 2002 to 2021 and was Director of the Toxalim unit from 2019 to 2023. She is interested in the effects of mycotoxins on pigs by analyzing the effects of these toxins on the immune response and on intestinal barrier function. Isabelle Oswald is an expert at ANSES (Committee on Residues and Chemical and Physical Contaminants), ILSI (International Life Sciences Institute), and EFSA (working groups "detoxification of mycotoxins" and "Fusarium toxins"). She participates in several editorial boards (Veterinary Immunology and Immunopathology, Journal of Animal Sciences, The Open Veterinary Science Journal and ISRN Veterinary Science).

PUEL Olivier

IRHC, PhD, HDR

Co-responsable de l'équipe BioToMyc

Olivier has been leading the team since September 1, 2021. Recruited in 1998 as a research engineer, Olivier initiated several themes related to toxinogenesis, including the genetic study of patulin biosynthesis, which was the subject of his doctorate in 2007. In addition to a molecular component, he developed methodologies for labeling mycotoxins with stable isotopes. At the same time, he acquired expertise in the production, purification, and characterization of specialized metabolites of fungal origin.

SOLER-VASCO Laura

DR2, DMV, PhD, HDR

Co-leader of the BioToMyc team

Laura obtained her degree (2005) and PhD (2010) in veterinary medicine from the University of Murcia in Spain. She completed several postdoctoral stays in Spain (University of Murcia), Belgium (KU Leuven) and France (INRAE-Val de Loire, Tours site) before joining the team in 2016. Her main scientific interests are the study of porcine intestinal pathophysiology, the development of new veterinary diagnostic techniques and the use of applied proteomics in animal sciences.
