Thematic workshop of the ALIMH division, INRA Dijon, March 29-30

The thematic field 4 "Food Toxicology, Food Safety" co-ordinated by JP Cravedi (TOXALIM), is organizing a seminar in Dijon on the topic of endocrine and metabolic disruptors present in our daily diet

Among the priorities of this thematic field 4 of the AlimH Division of INRA, is the study of endocrine and metabolic disturbances that may result from exposure of individuals to low levels of food contaminants.

Under the scientific framework of this thematic area, a seminar is organized in Dijon on 29 and 30 March 2012 to strengthen ties, promote exchanges and increase the visibility of researchers of the ALIMH and other INRA Divisions working in this area.

  • The main issues to be addressed during this seminar will be the effects of these substances on the reproductive function, development, thyroid hormones, the intestinal barrier, salivary glands, taste.
  • The effects of contaminants on metabolism and metabolic diseases will also be discussed .
  • The screening tools and the study of mechanisms by which these substances act at the molecular, cellular, tissue or function will be presented and discussed.
  • For subjects that will not be discussed during the oral presentations, poster sessions are planned.

Several scientists from outside INRA agreed to intervene and participate in discussions during these days.
