MELOFEED : to limit the use of antibiotics in animal feeds

This research project received financial support from the Single Interministerial Fund (FUI) and relies on the skills of TOXALIM's "Immuno-Myco-Toxicology" team

MELOFEED aims to develop a range of nutritional ingredients for the animal feed industry.

  • This range is based on the virtues of superoxide dismutase (SOD), an antioxidant molecule naturally present in the melon. Its preventive use should strengthen the health status and immunity of animals, and contribute to improving the overall performance of farms.
  • Over a period of 3 years, the project brings together two companies BIONOV (project leader) and Lallemand, and relies on the skills of the INRA "Immuno-Myco-Toxicology" team at TOXALIM Research Centre in Food Toxicology, in Toulouse, as scientific partner of the project.
  • The project MELOFEED, fits directly into the desired strategy by national and European institutions in the field of food security, sustainable development, welfare and industrial competitiveness.
