"Investments for tomorrow" program : TOXALIM is partner of the LABEX "SERENADE"

Nanomaterials are present more and more frequently in everyday life products

The risk posed by nanomaterials to human health is a unifying theme for several research teams at TOXALIM :

  • In particular, the effects of exposure to foodborne nanoparticles on the integrity of intestinal function or genotoxicity were studied at TOXALIM over the past two years.
  • Our unit is now partner of the SERENADE project (Safe Ecodesign Research and Education Applied to Nanomaterial Development - Towards the design of innovative, sustainable and safe nanomaterials ) that aims at determining the impact of nanomaterials on humans and their environment, assess potential risks and define associated risk management standards.
  • SERENADE includes 15 public and industrial partners, and will be funded as a Laboartory of Excellence (LABEX) for four years in the frame of the "Investments for tomorrow" national funding programme.

No doubt this LABEX will significantly contribute to the international visibility of our Research Unit in this field of investigation which addresses societal issues of increasing concern.
